We are very excited to inform you that we are planning our inaugural International Peace Cup Soccer Tournament. We'll announce dates in the near future. Teams from ages 8-19 will be accepted for both boys and girls.
This is a culmination of the ISCA’s effort for the past several years to develop opportunities for you, our members, to broaden and deepen relationships with sister cities abroad as well as within your communities. This tournament can achieve both.
It is said that if there is one universal language, it is soccer, or football, as it is called in the rest of the world. The game is played in practically every country, in every continent of the world. It is a great opportunity to contact your sister cities abroad and share the details of the tournament. It is our experience that there is almost always interest in participation, it is often the timing and to a lesser extent cost, that becomes an issue. It is a good way to open up contacts and conversations, even if they can not participate this year. You can start planning for the next year.
Similarly, you can approach local soccer clubs including ethnic clubs, traveling teams, and schools, specially high school coaches and athletic directors in your community. Many of these teams and clubs play several tournaments during the season, so they are familiar with the process. It is another way to engage the broader community and specially youth, in your sister city activities and organization.
If you have any questions, or need help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking forward to seeing you at the tournament in the near future!
